ELECTION  2004
DECATUR, ALABAMA
BACK TO PAGE TWO
Terry Smith for Mayor
Terry Smith has made five unsuccessful bids for public office in Morgan County,
including campaigns for Congress, State Senate, Mayor, Probate Judge, and Sheriff.
In the 2000 Mayoral race, he was a distant third, but appealed the result all the way
to the Alabama Supreme Court--and lost every step of the way. In 2002, he lost
badly to Tommy Ed Roberts, after claiming if elected to the State Senate, he would
remove the Decatur Mayor and City Council from office.  He is disabled due to
back and neck problems.

Terry Smith is an organizing member of the Chronic Courthouse Complainers
Club.  They are known for opposing everything in the Mayor's office, the City
Council, and the DPD; and for using City Council meetings for the sole purpose of
campaigning for City Council.  He hosts a local cable call-in show that is frequented
by the other club members.  He repeatedly implies on his show that I killed Karen.
He attacks my character, and trumpets the cause of dwm, absent  ANY information
whatsoever about the case.

Terry Smith is an opportunist who will seek any controversy to get his name in
the paper.  He has absolutely no connection to the SOA v dwm, and has no direct
knowledge of anything to do with the crime, the victims, the investigation, the
prosecution, or the killer.

He just wants people that actually believe the Decatur Daily version of the trial to
vote for him.  And he's hoping the sixth time's the charm.
