| Born February 16, 1952 in Wheeler, Alabama. Education: Graduated Courtland High School, 1970 Eighteen years later, graduated from Athens with a bachelor's degree in theology. Employment History: Four years in the Army. Thirty years on disability for back pain. Hobbies: Fishing, gardening, and hard work. Number one of eighteen stated goals: "To be Elected the First Black City Councilwoman in Decatur, AL" Weeks after dwm was convicted, Doris Baker joined Linda Kubina in a highly-publicized attack on the DPD before the City Council and in the Daily, claiming to be authorities on dwm. But neither Baker nor Kubina even attended the trial!!! All they knew about it was what they'd read in the Daily--the rumors and lies spread by the paper and the defense lawyers. Doris Baker attacked my character and reputation on Terry Smith's call-in show, describing all the drugs allegedly found in my house and the wild drug and sex parties we allegedly had. She had the gall to talk about my children, and how I was a terrible parent--while I was having to keep the girls out of the room from the TV show with two local nuts slandering me and accusing me of murder. She has no connection to this case whatsoever. She knows nothing about the evidence, the facts, or the law. But she claims to be an expert, and attacks the victims of the most heinous crime in Decatur history. Doris A. Baker has a personal agenda that compels her to attack everything white, and most things black. She criticizes the NAACP and SCLC as corrupt and conservative; she apparently admires the past methods of the Black Panthers. She claims Chief Joel Gilliam called her "black, dumb, and ignorant." He denies calling her black. |
