Thompson's Order for Second Trial
When Daniel Moore was convicted on four counts of capital murder, and sentenced to
death, Judge Glenn Thompson had sixty days to respond to the defense attorney's
motion for acquittal or new trial.  The deadline fell on a weekend, so in practical terms,
Thompson had until 5pm on Friday afternoon, March 21, 2003.  He filed his response
with 8 minutes to go.  The State of Alabama was informed of his decision by the
Decatur Daily on Monday morning.
