FBI REPORT
Now we have Sheryl Marsh saying Catherine Halbrooks says an FBI profiler says
the police said just after the murder that several persons of varying credibility say
Karen might have had an extramarital affair
, which I gather means more than one,
during the course of our ten-year-marriage.  It has been stated as fact repeatedly in the
press, when it is NOT a fact, and has never been demonstrated as a fact in any venue
other than the rumor mill and Catherine Halbrooks' feeble and perverted imagination.

And
what difference would it make if she'd had two affairs, or two hundred affairs?
It would make a difference to me, of course, but I honestly can't see how it is anyone
else's business whatsoever.  If Karen was having an affair at the time of her death, it
would have been good to know four years ago,
before Danny boy half-confessed and
half-killed hiimself, and was subsequently matched by DNA to the crime
, because
it would have given the police a suspect to question.  But no such "daily male visitor"
was ever found, nor will they ever be found, because they don't exist.  If Karen had an
extramarital affair years before her death, and had no contact with that person for years,
would that also be "new evidence" that would need to be splashed in the headlines?
WHY????
Unless the person you're "connecting" with Karen is "connected" to
the murder, then you're WAY out of bounds.
ANOTHER SLEAZY HEADLINE   II
Journalistic ethics require a news organization to "minimize damage" to private
figures, and to victims, in particular.
The standard in court in an invasion of privacy
suit, incidentally, is the balance of the public good done by reporting something (even if
true) versus the harm done to the individual involved.  I wonder how the Decatur public
has been served by being told Karen had sex toys in her bedroom.  That she had
multiple extramarital affairs--something no one's been able to prove to this day.  That
it's a "fact she was downloading homosexual pornography hours before her death"--the
same old computer-illiterate Halbrooks lie that makes money for Barrett Shelton, Jr. and
distracts the public (and, seemingly, the JUDGE) from the case against DWM.

It is professional misconduct for a lawyer to make any extrajudicial statement
involving the character or reputation of a party to a trial
, particularly when it might
prejudice a judicial proceeding, such as the striking of an unbiased jury in a capital
murder trial.  But professional misconduct has been the cornerstone of their defense of
Daniel Moore, and will continue to be, so long as their friend, Judge Glenn Thompson,
allows it.
It is journalistic misconduct to maximize damage towards victims, to print lies, or to
present a biased, one-sided view of a story.  And it is the height of folly to think Judge
Glenn Thompson is uninfluenced by Barrett Shelton, Jr., and the Decatur Daily.  After
all,
BS2 decides who gets good publicity and endorsements come election time--the
Kingfish Democrat good-old-boy of 'em all.  The Daily has gone out on a limb for four
years, implying and insinuating that I killed Karen, and that limb got cut off when DWM
was sentenced to death.
If Glenn Thompson lets DWM walk, it'd be a major favor
to BS2
.  I think Thompson would be happy to release Moore, knowing he tortured
Karen to death, if he could just keep his job.  I think he's worried he can't survive
politically in Decatur unless Barrett Shelton, Jr. likes him.  Poor Toofy.
Incidentally, the grapevine says Judge Thompson has led his friends, family, and church
members to believe he would never issue a death penalty--that he shares BS2's
anti-death penalty views.  But in Thompson's own words, "this is either capital murder
or not guilty."
So, he has to abuse his discretion in every manner possible to get a
not guilty, and protect himself from the embarrassment (and lost votes) for
issuing a death penalty.
But, of course, if Moore comes up guilty again, then
Thompson can always just throw it all out, and repeat the proceess until DWM walks
free and Thompson's friends--Sherman Powell, Catherine Halbrooks, and Barrett
Shelton, Jr--are happy.

Or, he can just turn him loose.
