BULLETIN BOARD WEEK 2

For ten years, every time there was a high profile murder, I would get a call from at
least one "news outlet" asking for my expert opinion on the case. I almost always gave
them an interview.
When Jeffrey Franklin killed his parents, I gave interviews to the Huntsville Times, and
to Channel 31. I took almost three hours of my own time to talk to the 31 reporter,
who wanted an article on what parents of dangerous teens should do. The implication
was that the Franklin parents had done something wrong here...which I considered to be
a ridiculous and uninformed insult to the Franklins, and told him so.
I gave them 5 different possible standard options, and then explained at length why
NONE of them actually worked, unless you had a large sum of money to pay for it
yourself. I explained that Madison County judges handle the problem of CHILDREN
IN NEED OF SUPERVISION (CHINS) by simply refusing to consider the petitions
lawfully presented them. It was, and is, a most bizarre circumstance--that judges would
publicly and overtly defy the law in a way, that as far as I know, is unique in the United
States. When you're a psychiatrist working with dangerous teenagers, you know these
things. You have 10 examples of how the system works against parents, and
perpetuates violence...then incarcerates the offender...and, of course, blames the parents.
It wasn't what they wanted to hear. I'd been telling this to the press for years, but they
wouldn't cover it because they wouldn't want to make the judges mad, would they?
When I watched the news that evening, my two-plus hour interview turned into less
than two minutes of snippets, with the summary of my response being that parents
should call the police and have their children put in jail. It was bizarre. And it was my
last "expert opinion" for the Huntsville press.
It also seems a little strange to me that if DWM had killed anyone other than my own
wife, all these "media outlets" would have been calling pleading for my input...that they
would have been happy to portray me as an expert on the case, whether I knew
anything about it or not. But now, they're going out of their way to AVOID putting me
on the air. Because in real life, I conflict so sharply with their own descriptions of me
that it makes them look stupid... and it's going to be impossible to edit it out.
For four years, they've talked about me. They've done all the damage they could do,
and look forward to violating me every way they can again in DWMII. They make
money doing this. They enjoy their work. Karen's murder and four years of repeated
unwarranted attacks have cost me everything I ever made in my life. And I HATE
doing this. Let's see who wins this time. Let's see who takes Karen's murder seriously,
and who is posing for the cameras...

When DA Bob Burrell didn't have time to deal with me or Karen's murder, I checked the Daily archives to see what he HAD been doing... And there were really only two things I could find that he HAD done... What did our DA choose to concentrate on to the exclusion of rape, torture, and murder??? Why, he'd been fighting the war on sexual aids and gambling machines, of course!!!! And THEY were telling ME everything was normal???
